About Explorers

Explorers (boys and girls) are the last youth section in the scouting family. Explorers are typically 14 – 18 years old.

What do Explorers Do?

Explorer scouts work towards their Queen Scouts Award and/or their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme by achieving various badges through participating in a wide range of activities. For more information please visit the scouts.org.uk website

Meeting Times

Sharman Explorers: Thursday 7:30pm – 9:30pm

Explorers are a District run Section however they operate under Partnering agreements to Scout Groups across the District, Sharman Explorers are not officially part of the 1st Woodend Scout Group however we do have a ‘Partnership Agreement’ with them guaranteeing places for our Scouts plus allowing the Explorers to have full use of our facilities and equipment. Our Scouts normally to ‘move up’ to this section plus return back to us as Young Leaders while they do the Service elements of the Explorer Badge work.
