All adult volunteers go through a training programme are first response first aid trained and have an enhanced DBS check. Some of our volunteers can’t attend section meetings every week, which is not a problem as we support each other and have volunteers from other sections or nights supporting each other, we also run a parent on duty rota for each section meeting so have sufficient adult support to run an evening meeting.
The majority of our Volunteers work and have busy family lives so we are all’s way looking to recruit new volunteers to support the delivery of our programme to all Young People within the Group. Unfortunately, leaders don’t last for ever and we need to find replacements, we can find a support role to fit into anybody’s personal circumstances so come along and join in the fun and delivering Skills for Life for all our Young People.
Basically, everything the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts do!
We do operate a Parent on Duty (POD) system so we do have additional adults at meetings as our eyes, ears and hands. If there is an activity on the programme that you would like to join in on please feel free to stay!
For more information on volunteering take a look at the Scout Association info page ‘Share the Adventure‘
If you would like the opportunity to do something you’d never thought of doing, while having lots of fun and giving back to the community at the same time, please get in touch – we can do more with more volunteers.
