Sharman Explorers

About Explorers

Explorers are the fifth section within Scouting for young people aged 14-18 years. They are led by Explorer team lead volunteers who support the young people in learning new skills, developing leadership skills and achieving their awards. The programme is developed by the Explorers themselves with support from lead volunteers. Explorers can work towards their Duke of Edinburgh and King Scout Award as well as their Chief Scout Platinum and Chief Scout Diamond awards, as well as the various activity badges. As well as becoming an Explorer, young people can also take part alongside in becoming a young leader within one of the younger sections.

Sharman Explorers

Explorers are a District run Section, however many operate under Partnership Agreements with Scout Groups across the Cotswold Edge District. Sharman Explorer Unit have their  partnership agreement with 1st Woodend Scout Group, allowing the group to have access to their facilities and equipment.

Meeting Location: At either 1st Woodend Scout HQ, Talbots End, Cromhall, GL12 8AJ (autumn/winter) or Avening Green Scout HQ, Tortworth, GL12 8HD (spring/summer)

Uniform

Sharman Explorers are asked to wear their Explorer scout shirt and neckerchief
(black with pink border) whilst meeting indoors and weather dependent clothing and
neckerchief when outdoors.
